A Lovely Bride Valentine

Just a couple of months ago Charlotte was blessed with a new bridal shop. Now, this isn’t your average shop. This is where dreams are made of. There’s a neon sign on the wall, the dresses are organized in a non-overwhelming way, and there’s even private styling rooms where your family and friends sit. I promise the moment you step foot into Lovely Bride, you will not want to leave.

I reached out to owner ReAnne Moyer to talk about her experience as a first-time entrepreneur and all things Lovely! The most fun exciting part of this though was the Valentine’s photo shoot we did exclusively for Honeystruck. What better way to celebrate February 14th than with wedding dresses and a heart themed charcuterie board?

Hi ReAnne! Can you walk us through the Lovely Bride Charlotte experience and how it differs from different bridal shops?

“Lovely Bride truly redefined the traditional bridal shopping experience. Our goal at Lovely Charlotte is that we want every bride that enters our shop to feel the magic of our space. I believe in creating good energy and you can feel that when you walk in. What makes the Lovely experience special is we not only carry unique, bohemian, and crafted bridal designs which are often exclusive to us, but we do so in a space that is both is inviting and insta-worthy! Our private fitting rooms are cozy and our stylists feel more like “your fashionable best friend” rather than a sales consultant. We want our brides to feel comfortable like they can be their authentic selves when shopping with us!”

BRB. Telling all my engaged friends to book a time here ASAP (and invite me too!). You told me this is your first entrepreneurship journey. What has been the hardest moment and also the best moment so far?

“The hardest part of starting a business is OPENING the business! This means all the time spent planning and then waiting for the doors to finally open. For me, the best part of being an entrepreneur so far has been joining the community of female business owners and sharing this new connection. We have some pretty bad ass women business owners in Charlotte and I’m excited to work with every single one of them.”

I agree – there’s so many bad ass women here in Charlotte! Do you have any advice for those who are just getting their feet wet as an entrepreneur?

“If you wait until you’re no longer scared, you’ll never do it. Truly, everything you are dreaming of is on the other side of fear. It’s what holds us back and what keeps us from taking the leap. Two February’s ago I was teetering with the idea of formally moving forward with opening Lovely. Over dinner and a cocktail, my husband (then fiancé) said to me, “Babe – no risk, no reward”. And the next day I sent the email confirming I would be moving forward!”

“Truly, everything you are dreaming of is on the other side of fear.”

That’s incredible advice and something that will stick with me. One thing I’m curious about – do all brides who come into the shop have to fit a certain body type?

“One of the Lovely mantras is “the most exclusive, inclusive bridal club.” Meaning, we carry exclusive brands while being inclusive of sizing. All of our sample gowns vary in size and each of our designer’s sizing is unique to their brand. Our in-store samples range from size 6-20 in bridal and some of our designers offer extended sizing into 20+.”

Incredible. I love that there’s options for everyone. Speaking of options, do you sell more than wedding dresses?”

“YES! We also sell a variety of unique veils, overskirts, detachable trains and accessories. An honorable mention to the amazing selection of bridal capes we just received last week – so much glam!” (Note from Brooke: check out this cape I got to wear!)

I am seriously in love with everything.

Quick Q’s Break

  1. Favorite designer that Lovely carries?
This question feels like I’m picking my favorite child. My favorite designer we carry is Rue De Seine. Their designs are everything and I believe they are changing the bridal game by creating wedding dresses that brides can relate to personally. Their gowns have so much personality! Do yourself a favor and check out their IG – #bohovibes.
  2. Favorite local Date Night spot?
Stagioni. I’m nearly 100% Italian, so nothing says Friday night more than a bottle of wine and bowl of pasta to share with my husband.
  3. Do you have a pet?
Yes, our 2-year-old french bulldog Vino!

One more question before you go! What is something that most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that back in 2017 I lost my Mom from mental illness and it changed my perspective on life. I stopped playing small – literally. I realized that I was living my life out of fear to make changes or take risks. Scared of the “what if.” So, I stopped. Then 6 months later I met my now husband, 8 months later I adopted the puppy I had been dreaming of having for years, and 9 months later I built my first home. That following year Rich proposed, and I was given the opportunity to open Lovely Bride Charlotte. I left my five-year sales career in Corporate America. Now here I am today answering questions about entrepreneurship. I never would have imagined back then that I would be where I am today, but I am so very grateful to be living this life. It wouldn’t have happened this way unless I followed my gut and took the risk. I’m so thankful for the love of my friends & family for supporting me along my journey.
